Oracle Receivables

Scenario:

 A telecommunication company that sells phones and scratch cards for prepaid lines. 
We have the following Oracle applications modules implemented: Purchasing, Inventory, Payables , Fixed Assets, Cash Management, General Ledger, HR and Payroll. 
Another Oracle built-in solution is used for customer care and billing. Finance department is planning to implement the receivable module and integrate it with the other billing and customer care application.

What functionalities exactly can Receivables perform in our business/ Finance cycle? 
How will Receivables interface with the other modules implemented? What are the interface tables of receivables 



1) You can use the Receipts Workbench to perform your receipt-related tasks , 

 2) Transactions Workbench is used to process your invoices, debit memos, credit memos, on-account credits, charge backs, and adjustments,. 

3)The Bills Receivable Workbench lets you create, update, remit, and manage your bills receivable., 

4)You may not have access to every window, button, or tabbed region within a workbench thus providing function security, 

5) Several of the windows in the Receivables workbenches are folders. Folders let you choose which fields you want to view and where they appear in a window. 

6) Find windows are available within each of the Receivables workbenches,

7)In the Receipts, Transactions, and Bills Receivable Workbenches, t
he Tools pull down menu lets you perform operations in addition to those provided by the action buttons 

8)Availability of view accounting windows and view currency details windows,

 9)Creating Invoices for shipped goods, 

10) Run the Revenue Recognition program to generate the revenue distribution records for invoices and credit memos that use invoicing and accounting rules 

11)Availability of Auto lock box facility. AutoLockbox (or Lock box) is a service that commercial banks offer corporate customers to enable them to outsource their accounts receivable payment processing. An Auto Lock box operation can process millions of transactions a month. AutoLockbox eliminates manual data entry by automatically processing receipts that are sent directly to your bank 

12)Write off Process for records. Both the manual and automatic write-off processes initiate a concurrent program to process the write-off records. This program validates the data that you enter and selects the records to write off 

13) Receivables lets your customers use a credit card to remit payments for open debit items. 

14) opening and closing accounting periods in calendar and Manage customer information. 

15) Create various user friendly reports. 
Receivables module is integrated with the following modules:-- Cash Management, General Ledger, ipayment, Order Management , Pricing , Inventory module ,OPM modules ,Oracle Advanced Collections, Oracle Payments and Oracle Projects. 

a) Receivables to Cash Management 
Cash Management selects Receipts directly from the Receivables tables to reconcile with bank statements. Important data in the information flow are: Receipt Number, Receipt Amount, Date, Customer, Application Detail. Cash Management selects Unpaid Invoices and Receipts directly from the Receivables tables as Inflow components in the Cash Forecast. Important data in the information flow are: Amount. Cash Management directly updates Receivables tables with reconciled Receipt information. Important data in the information flow are: Amount Cleared, Receipt Cleared Date, Bank Charges, Bank Errors, Rate Gain/Loss. 

b)Receivables to General Ledger 
 Invoices (including Debit Memos and Credit Memos), Receipts (including Miscellaneous), Adjustments, and Charge backs are transferred from Receivables to the General Ledger by running the General Ledger Interface request from a Receivables Responsibility. Important data in the information flow are: Code Combination, Journal Amount. 

c) Shared Data 
The following data is shared with other modules: Customers, Banks, Payments Terms, Tax Codes, Code Combinations, Units of Measure, Items, Categories, Employees.
